Children and teens who wanted to emulate their ice hockey role models and idols, used to play against each other in car parks, school playgrounds and in backyards with ice hockey sticks and tennis balls. Today, street hockey is played in a 12x8-m arena with boards around the edges. The ball almost always remains in play, meaning a high level of activity is possible. Street hockey doesn't just have to be played at a sports facility but can be played anywhere where sports aren't usually played, such as in the street, outdoor areas and halls.
Who plays street hockey? Street hockey can be played by everyone – children, teens, adults, boys and girls, beginners and advanced players. It is especially popular with children and teens.
