Basic equipment of the school

After our old 200g balls gave up the ghost, we needed a replacement. After researching other relevant websites where you can order a lot of stuff, we decided to prioritise these balls - also for fear of waste from far away.
Conclusion: leather balls that were well stitched and delivered quickly.

Throwing balls for clubs and schools

Throwing the ball is a classic athletics discipline and part of many school sports competitions. The aim is to throw the ball as far and as straight forward as possible. The ball should sit well in the hand and offer a secure grip. Depending on age group, different sizes and weights of throwing balls are used.

Which size throwing ball?

In school sports competitions, girls up to and including 13 years and boys up to 12 years throw with an 80 g ball with a 6.5 cm diameter. Older teenagers and adults use a 200 g ball with a 7.6 cm diameter.

What is the difference between Schlagbälle and Wurfbälle?

Traditional Schlagbälle are usually made of leather and have a raised seam. They do not bounce, so they remain on the grass after the throw and can be collected easily. Wurfbälle, on the other hand, are also available in rubber, either bouncing or non-bouncing. They are ideal for playful throwing and catching exercises.
