What is 3x3 basketball?
With its FIBA debut at the Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore in 2010 and its first olympic senior-level tournaments in 2020, this variation of basketball is still quite young. As the name suggests, it is a three-a-side game. Each team consists of four players, with one acting as a substitute. The first team to score 21 points is the winner. If neither team scores 21 points, the game ends after 10 minutes and the team with the most points wins. A successful shot scored from within the arc is awarded one point, whereas a successful shot from behind the arc is awarded two. The teams only have 12 seconds for each shot, which makes the game rather fast and furious.
