A vaulting pole is defined by two characteristics: its length and its rigidity, e.g. 430/70: Here, the pole is 4.3 m long and intended for a vaulter with a body weight of 70 kg. Only a vaulter with very good technique and a grip height of 4.30 m will push this pole to its limit.
The grip height also plays an important role: the lower one grips, the more rigid the pole becomes.
