The paint is free from chalk and corrosive solvents and is therefore completely harmless to humans, animals and the environment. It has a high degree of opacity and luminosity and is quick-drying at temperatures from 5°C. Once dry, it will last for up to 4 weeks.
Thanks to our high-quality contents, the paint does not make grass stick together or inhibit its capillary system.
When quickly pouring the paint into the water, the paint will mix itself. A simple stir is all that is required.
Areas of use:
This marking paint is specifically designed for marking grass sports pitches. It can also be used on sand and hard pitches. Please ensure that your lawn is cut short before marking to allow optimum durability and paint consumption.
For marking out a sports pitch, you will need approx. 4 to 6 litres of paint. This depends on the marking machine that is used and the nozzle size (1.8 bar with a 0.7-nozzle is ideal), the line width, the type of surface (e.g. short grass) as well as the groundkeeper's walking speed. The marking, depending on weather conditions and grass growth, is visible for up to 4 weeks. 1 canister is enough for approx. 3 playing fields.
The paint is supplied in a paste concentrate and only needs to be mixed with water. Depending on requirements, the mixing ratio for new marking is approx. 1:3 (=1 kg paint + 3 litres of water), for continual marking approx. 1:5 or 1:6. Please pour the mixture through a sieve before filling the machine. This prevents any clumps entering the container and thereby guarantees flawless marking.
Ensure that you have read the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines for the marking machine.
Tips for use
The Sport-Thieme "Extra-White" line marking paint was developed specifically for use on grass pitches, but can also be used on sand and hard courts. Please make sure that your lawn is mowed shortly before marking, as the amount of paint required and the lifespan of the markings depend on this. The paint will mix itself – just pour it swiftly into the water and give it a quick stir.
Very efficient: this is the amount you need
You will need approx. 4 to 6 litres of paint to mark one sports field. The exact amount depends on the line marking machine and/or the size of the nozzle (1.8 bar with a nozzle of 0.7 is ideal), the line width, the condition of the pitch (e.g. length of grass) and the walking speed of the groundsman. 1 canister is sufficient for approx. 3 pitches.
Easy application: how to mix
The paint is supplied as a paste-like concentrate and can only be diluted with water. The mixing ratio depends on the paint layer – for new markings approx. 1:4 (= 1 kg paint + 4 kg water), and approx. 1:5 or 1:6 for reapplying markings. Please pour the paint mixture through a sieve before filling it into the marking trolley. This will prevent lumps from getting into the container and ensure perfect marking lines. Please also follow the instructions and regulations set out by the line marking machine manufacturer.
Our tip for winter:
In winter, standard red or black tint can be added to the paint for times when there is a snow cover. This will allow you to use your marked pitch, even during the colder months of the year. The marking paint can be kept in its well-sealed original canister for up to approx. 1 year. Please ensure that the canister is stored in a frost-free room.
Delivery information during winter months:
Please note that due to the water content of the marking paint, it cannot be dispatched during periods of frosty weather. Delivery will resume in spring when temperatures are above zero.
Use only the Sport-Thieme "Extra-White" line marking paint for your sports pitches ̶ for the good of the environment!
